今年で創業161年目の七條甘春堂さんの8代目を務める木ノ下さん。
家族構成やお店を継いだ経緯、七條甘春堂がどのようなお店なのかを教えていただきました!
和菓子はいつ誕生し、どのように進化を遂げてきたのか、その歴史を学びました📝
小豆の一般的な炊き方を動画で学びました!
生菓子、上生菓子、羊羹、干菓子、など和菓子の種類とその違いについて教わり、それぞれに対する知識がつきました💡
「見立て」と呼ばれる和菓子特有の価値観や、京菓子の特徴についても教わり、和菓子の奥深さを知ることができました🍘
若い世代にも和菓子の魅力を広げることを目指した七条甘春堂さんとポケモンのコラボについて、その裏話を伺いました👀

Meet KINOSHITA Akiho san and explore Kyoto from the inside.

She is the 8th-generation owner of Shichijo Kanshundo, a traditional Japanese confectionery shop that is celebrating its 161st anniversary this year.
She told us about her family, how she came to inherit the business, and what kind of shop Shichijo Kanshundo is.
We learned about the history of wagashi, including when they were first created and how they have evolved over time📝
We also watched a video to learn the basic process of cooking azuki beans.
In addition, we learned about different types of wagashi, such as namagashi, jonamagashi, yokan, and higashi, as well as the differences between them. This helped us gain a better understanding of Japanese confectionery💡
We were also introduced to the unique wagashi concept of “mitate” and the characteristics of Kyoto-style sweets, which allowed us to appreciate the depth and artistry of wagashi🍘
We learned about the various occasions and settings in which wagashi are used.
Kinoshita san also shared the story behind the collaboration between Shichijo Kanshundo and Pokemon, which was created to introduce the appeal of wagashi to younger generations👀

私は去年京都に進学してきて初めて、京都では6月に水無月を食べる習慣があることを知りました💡去年は食べることができなかったので、今回初めて七条甘春堂さんの水無月をこの時期にいただくことができてとても嬉しかったです✨
木ノ下さん、非常においしい水無月を人数分用意してくださりありがとうございました!家族が和菓子好きなので夏に帰省する際には七条甘春堂さんに立ち寄り、お土産を買って帰りたいと思います。
